We are partnering with a leading construction company in the Albany, NY area to fill the position of Controller. Position Overview:
As the Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our client's company. You will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Additionally, you will work closely with senior management to develop strategies for financial growth and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and procedures
Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management for decision-making purposes
Oversee the budgeting process and monitor performance against budgeted targets
Manage cash flow and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and minimize financial risk
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Stay current on accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience with construction accounting software is a plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
