Description

We are seeking an HR Generalist for a growing group in Albany, NY.

HR Generalist Duties

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This includes anti-harassment training, aptitude and dexterity testing.

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale and training and development.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Ensures timely completion and submission of payroll information to payroll department

  • Responsible for preparing leave packet and completing applicable steps on the HR Leave of Absence Checklist

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Human Resources preferred. PHR Certificate desirable

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience working within a human resources function

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience

  • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations

  • Demonstrate discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials, and demonstrate good judgment

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion

  • Skilled user of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Prior experience with an HRIS system (i.e. ADP) preferred
