Description
Robert Half is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time contract basis, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance during the contract period. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Record financial transactions, including but not limited to sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data in the accounting system.:
Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and schedule payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized records of payables.
Generate and send customer invoices promptly.
Follow up on outstanding customer balances and ensure timely collections.
Post and reconcile payments received.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and distribute financial reports as needed, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Monitor and track company expenses.
Assist in creating and managing budgets.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and relevant regulations.
Maintain records for audits and tax filings.
Assist in payroll processing, including calculating and verifying hours, deductions, and taxes.
Maintain organized and secure financial records and documents.
Assist in developing and updating accounting procedures.
Collaborate with the finance team on special projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office suite.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with payroll processing is a plus.
