Robert Half Grant Accountant in ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico
Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary to hire position. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Major responsibilities
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
ERP system experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Comprehensive knowledge of grant accounting
Abila MIP experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Recent and relevant accounting experience
