Robert Half Payroll Accountant in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The role involves processing bi-weekly payroll, reviewing time sheets, ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll requirements, reconciling third party payroll to general ledger, assisting in audits of internal records, preparing month-end payroll related journal entries, and reconciling payroll/benefits balance sheet accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Processing bi-weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner in line with company specific pay policies

• Reviewing time sheets for accuracy and adherence to payroll policies and procedures

• Ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll requirements

• Reconciling third party payroll to the general ledger

• Assisting in audits of internal records as needed, including workers compensation, financial and tax filings

• Preparing month-end payroll related journal entries

• Reconciling payroll/benefits balance sheet accounts

• Carrying out other duties as assigned

• Utilizing skills in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Costpoint, 401k - RRSP Administration, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Auditing, Excel Formulas, Microsoft Excel, UKG Pro, UKG Ready Requirements • Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant for a minimum of 2 years

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems such as ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Costpoint

• Familiarity with 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software

• Demonstrable knowledge of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in Auditing

• Proficient in using Excel Formulas and Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of UKG Pro and UKG Ready software

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
