Robert Half International Staff Accountant in ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico
Description If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Accountemps for you to check out at a growing firm. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Participate in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of reconciliations
General ledger experience desired
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Recent and relevant accounting experience
experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
