Robert Half Tax Preparer in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Robert Half is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team on a full-time contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance during the contract period. The Tax Preparer will play a key role in helping clients navigate complex tax regulations, prepare accurate tax returns, and provide exceptional customer service.
Meet with clients to gather tax-related information and answer their questions.
Provide guidance on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liability.
Prepare and complete accurate individual and business tax returns in compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
Review and verify the completeness of supporting documentation.
Ensure timely submission of tax returns.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
Conduct research to address complex tax issues.
Address client inquiries and concerns throughout the tax filing process.
Assist clients with tax-related documentation and record-keeping.
Review tax returns for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Identify potential deductions, credits, and exemptions to maximize tax benefits.
Maintain organized and secure records of client tax information.
Create and maintain digital and paper files in accordance with company policies.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs in a professional and courteous manner.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Collaborate with the finance and accounting team on special projects and tasks as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Proven experience as a tax preparer or tax advisor.
Proficiency in tax preparation software and tools.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet tax filing deadlines.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus.
