Robert Half Tax Preparer in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Description

Robert Half is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team on a full-time contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance during the contract period. The Tax Preparer will play a key role in helping clients navigate complex tax regulations, prepare accurate tax returns, and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients to gather tax-related information and answer their questions.

  • Provide guidance on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liability.

  • Prepare and complete accurate individual and business tax returns in compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

  • Review and verify the completeness of supporting documentation.

  • Ensure timely submission of tax returns.

  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.

  • Conduct research to address complex tax issues.

  • Address client inquiries and concerns throughout the tax filing process.

  • Assist clients with tax-related documentation and record-keeping.

  • Review tax returns for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

  • Identify potential deductions, credits, and exemptions to maximize tax benefits.

  • Maintain organized and secure records of client tax information.

  • Create and maintain digital and paper files in accordance with company policies.

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Collaborate with the finance and accounting team on special projects and tasks as assigned.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

  • Proven experience as a tax preparer or tax advisor.

  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and tools.

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and meet tax filing deadlines.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus.
