Robert Half Bookkeeper in Alexandria, Virginia

Description

We are offering an opportunity in the hospitality industry located in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. The role involves bookkeeping functions and requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic work environment. This role will involve managing all operational accounting, interacting with General Managers, and providing guidance and recommendations for improvements within the Department.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full life-cycle accounting, which includes accurately recording all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and conduct cash flow analysis.

• Perform bank reconciliations, accounting tasks, client billing, and collections.

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash, and credit management.

• Develop, implement, and maintain chart of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.

• Use current computer technology to develop, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.

• Develop, maintain, and prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

• Perform accurate and timely Bank Reconciliations.

• Coordinate and assist other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.

• Advise management on short-term and long-term Accounting objectives, policies, and actions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role within the hospitality industry.

• Expertise in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience with managing payroll for 101 to 500 employees.

• Proven track record as a Full Charge Bookkeeper.

• Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office Suite.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred.

• Adherence to confidentiality and data protection regulations.

• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation.
