My client has an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a role as a Controller in their Northern Virginia office. They are within the Construction industry and the ideal person selected for the Controller position will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, supervising a small team, implementation of a new ERP system, providing oversight to the general accounting and payroll procedures, assist with the annual audit review reconciliations, approve journal entries, lead team through the month-end close and produce financial statements for leadership. This is an organization where an individual can maintain great work-life balance and will receive great benefits.

Daily responsibilities of the Controller include:

· Oversee month-end close process.

· Preparation of financial statements.

· Prepare various schedules.

· Reconcile general ledger accounts.

· Ensure company is in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

The ideal Controller we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

· 8+ years of accounting experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

· Communicate effectively to leadership.

· Capable of managing a team

· CPA, a plus.
