We are offering an exciting opportunity in the hospitality industry in Alexandria, Virginia, 22301, United States. We are looking for a Junior Accountant with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of the accounts payable and receivable process. This role involves maintaining accurate customer credit records, processing customer credit applications, and performing account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain detailed records

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) duties, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled

• Manage billing tasks, ensuring all invoices are issued accurately and on time

• Perform account reconciliations, identifying any discrepancies and resolving them promptly

• Use Microsoft Excel and ADP - Payroll for data entry and other accounting activities

• Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to maintain accurate financial records

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions to collect delinquent payments

• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and activities related to customer credit accounts.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in an accounting role, particularly in the hospitality industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, billing, and data entry tasks

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with ADP - Payroll is a major advantage

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes

• Ability to perform bank reconciliations

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
