My client is a fast-growing engineering company headquartered in Arlington, VA with a need for a Payroll Manager proficient in Deltek Costpoint. The Payroll Manager will supervise the Payroll Department and including supervising payroll staff and managing the entire payroll process for the organization. The Payroll Manager will report to the VP of Finance and Accounting and will oversee employee payroll, taxes, GL postings, process improvements, and work with Human Resources and Accounting to prepare reports and ensure accuracy and compliance with local and federal laws. The Payroll Manager must have supervising experience and experience with Deltek Costpoint required. Payroll professionals with their CPP are highly encouraged to apply. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervisor and manage the Payroll Department, oversee Payroll Associates

  • Oversee taxes, ensuring Deltek Costpoint reports are accurate

  • Review and post payroll journal entries, prepare manual entries as needed

  • Manage the updating and employee change status for benefits, 401k, and other deductions

    –Review and post payroll journal entries, prepare manual entries as needed

    -Calculate manual net/gross and tax withholdings

-Performance reviews of staff and training

-Process wage garnishments and tax liens

-Reconcile and balance payroll account and prep for Audits

Requirements:

5+ year of supervisor/management experience in payroll

Deltek Costpoint

Strong background in payroll taxes and accounting

System Implementation experience

Proficient in MS Excel

CPP is highly preferred

Stable job history

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites are necessary.

• Experience with Deltek Costpoint software is expected.

• Strong leadership and team management skills are necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are expected.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion is required.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are expected.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation is required.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity is expected.

• Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation is required.
