Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering an excellent opportunity for an accounting assistant in the Healthcare/NHS industry, based in ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania. The role primarily focuses on balance sheet analyses and preparation of monthly audit ready packages.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare complex accounting analyses and journal entries to ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, accruals, and reserves.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and other internal/external financials for use by internal operating management, board of directors, and external parties.

• Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or solve complex problems, with a focus on accounting processes, systems, and controls.

• Perform analysis to assist in the preparation of monthly results and comparisons with budget.

• Manage sections of the balance sheet.

• Assist with quarterly and year-end reporting.

• Support the improvement of internal controls.

• Maintain a collaborative mindset and effort, working effectively with the finance team and organizational leaders.

• Utilize skills in General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close.

The role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Requirements • Proven experience in an Accountant role within the Healthcare/NHS industry

• Proficient in managing General Ledger operations

• Skilled in preparing and posting Journal Entries

• Experience in executing Month End Close procedures

• Strong understanding of NHS accounting principles and regulations

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is a plus

• Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines

• Commitment to continuous professional development in the field of healthcare accounting.
