Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. The strongest candidates for this position will be able to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. Since the Accounts Receivable Clerk will handle 200+ invoices a week, they must be a self-starter with high attention to detail. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization

  • Settle bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a variety of ledgers

  • Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks

  • Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

  • Test documents and codes

  • Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders

  • Take care of payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment

Requirements - 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

  • Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired

  • General ledger experience

  • Enter Invoices experience preferred

  • Strong familiarity with Enter Invoices

  • Solid understanding of auditing

  • Command of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems
