Description
Robert Half Talent Solutions is representing a leading manufacturer that is seeking a meticulous Cost Accountant in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role is centered around managing the costing and analysis process surrounding the project cost system for the business. The Cost Accountant will also be expected to provide new financial analysis tools and insights to aid in better business management.

Responsibilities:
• Create, monitor, and maintain all project phases within SAP
• Conduct a detailed budget vs actual variance analysis on completed projects, collaborating with various discipline department managers and supervisors for variance explanations
• Handle cost close-out process on completed project shipments and installations monthly
• Maintain and record monthly journal entries related to warranty, training, post-ship, and install accruals
• Oversee and report all inventory accounts monthly
• Monitor daily time sheets for manufacturing, engineering, and field service organizations globally to ensure timely posting of labor costs to jobs
• Maintain and update all material standard costs in the system and collaborate with purchasing on a bi-weekly basis for updates
• Develop updated overhead rates as needed
• Oversee inventory observations twice a year
• Assist with year-end financial audit requests relating to projects and costing by providing all requested records and explanations.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Cost Accounting role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is desirable.
• Experience with CapEx accounting procedures is essential.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions is necessary.
• Ability to perform a variety of accounting functions.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required.
• Familiarity with budget processes in a corporate setting.
• Demonstrable experience in Cost Accounting.
• Proficiency in Cost Analysis is necessary.
• SAP software experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks according to business needs.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
