The permanent Controller position is situated in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area. To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. How you will make an impact

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

    Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • High attention to detail

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Command of Manufacturing Cost Accounting

  • Experience with Global Manufacturing

  • External Financial Reports experience preferred

  • General familiarity with SAP or similar manufacturing ERP system knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Entries

  • Deep understanding of Annual Financial Reporting

  • Adeptness in Accounting close process

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
