Robert Half Network Engineer in Allentown, Pennsylvania
Description We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be providing technical leadership, maintaining an understanding of user and project leader direction, and coaching team members to achieve standardization and design across the organization. This job also entails staying abreast of technological advancements and leading the process of unit, functional, and integration testing.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership on medium to large size projects
• Maintain regular communication with users, project leaders, and management to review project priorities and scope
• Coach and mentor team members to achieve workflow standardization and design across the organization
• Stay updated with technological advancements and recommend new tools and alternatives to improve efficiency within the organization
• Lead unit, functional, and integration testing processes
• Lead discussions in team and departmental committees providing data and system administration
• Develop and coordinate conventions, standards, and procedures to improve departmental function
• Develop and implement strategies and methodologies to meet future information needs of the organization
• Monitor and ensure adherence to current project management methodology by all team members
• Provide team leadership and ensure efficient operation and future growth of network components.
This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, with a focus on skills such as Cisco Wireless, Cisco Routers, Switches, and Cisco Firewall. Requirements • Proficiency in Cisco Wireless and Cisco Routers
• Experience with Switches
• Familiarity with Cisco Firewall
• Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and network hardware
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or relevant position
• Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP) is desirable
• Sound understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
• Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
