Description
Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with an established real estate company is seeking an experienced Property Manager to run a multi-unit affordable housing operation. The company is looking for a Property Manager familiar with affordable housing paperwork and requirements, and has the ability to negotiate with multiple parties to keep the operation running smoothly and cost-effectively. The Property Manager will be in charge of ensuring the staff is completing necessary duties, that all tenants are in compliance with regulatory guidelines, that the property is orderly and up to code, and that all issues that come about are properly addressed and/or handled in a timely manner. This is a permanent opportunity in the Buffalo, NY area!
Some of your responsibilities will include...
Ensure consistent application of property rules and regulations, lease documents and report all violation.
Process, complete and maintain accurate resident files at move-in and at each re-certification within established regulatory guidelines.
Conduct recruiting, hiring and termination process as well as training and evaluation of all staffs.
Responsible for program compliance for affordable housing.
Obtains appropriate documentation, completes certifications and collects deposits and rents in accordance with program policies and procedures.
Ensures site staff responds to all resident requests or complaints in a timely, efficient and courteous manner.
Complete work orders and turnover of vacant units in a timely manner.
Requirements
Previous property management experience
Knowledge of Section 8 housing requirements and paperwork
Comfortability with hiring and training
Strong organization and negotiation skills
Experience with low-income housing highly preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people
An understanding of the operational side of properties from the ground up
