Robert Half Network Administrator in Anaheim, California

Description We are looking for a great Network Administrator who will be tasked with supporting, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and upgrading the company's diverse network systems. This role involves collaborating with a team to resolve system issues and ensure optimal network performance.

Key Responsibilities: Define network requirements by consulting with users and analyzing workflow, access, information, and security needs. Assess and address network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency. Plan and oversee the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment. Develop and implement network policies and procedures. Maintain and upgrade existing software and hardware, replacing outdated components as necessary. Keep all network hardware and firmware up to date. Collaborate closely with the Network Administrator to maximize network performance and analyze/test any changes that could impact critical systems. Monitor and enhance network security, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities and threats. Promote new technologies and products by attending networking conferences and training sessions. Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Skills: Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent detail oriented experience. Relevant Certifications: CCNA, CCSP, CCIE, Network+, Security+. At least 5 years of experience in network administration. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Exceptional time management and organizational abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs. Proven track record of completing projects efficiently and on time. Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow. Effective troubleshooting skills, with the ability to systematically resolve issues. In-depth knowledge of: Cisco and/or Extreme Networks hardware, including datacenter/edge switches, routers, WLAN controllers, and WAPs. Azure Virtual Networking fundamentals and concepts. Extreme Software: XIQ management suite. Firewall management concepts, particularly with FortiGate. WAN configuration and management. Remote access technologies, including VPN/IPSEC. Multicast networking and IGMP. Proficiency with Microsoft solutions, particularly: Active Directory 2016 and newer. Windows Server 2016 – 2022. DHCP, DNS, WINS. DFS. Additional knowledge in the following areas is advantageous: SAN networking technologies such as Fibre Channel and iSCSI. HP server and storage hardware, including HP Proliant DL series, 3PAR SAN, Nimble SAN, MSA. Virtualization technologies, including VMware and ProxMox. Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 products, and cloud services. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
