Robert Half Network Administrator in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator in the Service industry, located in ANN ARBOR, Michigan, United States. The role involves managing and ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our business computer networks. You will be working within a team of motivated individuals and will be expected to be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and eager to learn new skills and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues for our small to medium-sized business customers, making sure their needs are met promptly.

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.

• Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

• Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software.

• Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.

• Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.

• Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.

• Research new technologies and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Network Administrator role or a similar position.

• Strong proficiency in managing Cisco Products is required.

• Demonstrable experience with LAN - Local Area Network and WAN - Wide Area Network is essential.

• Experience working with Routers and Switches is a prerequisite.

• Familiarity with MS Windows Server 2008 is mandatory.

• Expertise in handling MS Exchange Server is a must.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are necessary.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

• Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) will be an advantage.

• A strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware is required.

• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices is necessary.

• A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is preferred.

• Must be available for on-call after-hours support as necessary.

• Good analytical and decision-making skills are required.

• The ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems is necessary.
