Description

Our trusted client is seeking a Sr. Accountant consultant in the Service industry. This long-term engagement entails performing a range of accounting tasks, from interpreting financial accounting principles to managing general ledger tasks. The successful candidate will be involved in various transactions, prepare analysis and reports, and ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Interpret and implement new accounting systems and procedures, in line with assigned areas.

• Analyze and monitor various transactions and accounting subledgers.

• Execute banking transactions and prepare cash flow forecasts.

• Record and track fixed assets, record depreciation, and account for the disposition of fixed assets.

• Prepare and file tax returns for sales and use tax and property tax.

• Manage general ledger tasks including posting journal entries, reconciling monthly balance sheets accounts, and account analysis.

• Evaluate and interpret financial accounting principles and participate in the preparation of financial statements.

• Contribute to the process improvements throughout the department.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:

• Candidate must have a background in the service industry.

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant is necessary.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required.

• Balance Sheet Reconciliation skills are crucial for this role.

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations is a must.

• Experience with General Ledger management is needed.

• Knowledge of Journal Entries is essential.

• Candidate should be capable of handling Month End Close tasks.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• A professional certification such as CPA is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
