Robert Half Cash Application Specialist in Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Description We are in search of a dedicated Cash Application Specialist to be based in ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Maryland. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing customer payments and accounts, ensuring effective cash flow and minimized risk in our financial operations. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, allowing the successful individual to further develop their skills in the telecom provider industry.
Responsibilities:
• Handle daily processing of ACH, checks, lockbox, and credit card payments and authorizations.
• Conduct thorough research and resolve unapplied payments on customer accounts.
• Prepare and transmit customer statements of open invoices as needed.
• Consistently follow up on Aged Accounts Receivable to ensure timely payment.
• Identify payment exceptions such as short pay and overpay situations; investigate root causes of issues; escalate to CSR or sales representative to obtain documentation and conclude on open issues.
• Review past due balances, contact customers for payment, identify and resolve issues, escalate when necessary, communicate resolutions, and request payment.
• Foster positive customer relationship management through effective written and verbal communications.
• Develop and maintain positive work relationships and effectively use verbal and written communication to ensure successful workflow optimization.
• Report weekly and monthly status of customer collections as required.
• Proficiently use accounting software systems for managing accounts receivable, billing functions, and cash applications. Requirements • Demonstrable proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Previous experience in a role involving Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
• Prior experience with Billing Functions
• Proven ability to manage Cash Activity effectively
• Previous experience in Cash Applications
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar role
