Robert Half Accounting Analyst in Annapolis, Maryland
Description We are seeking an Accounting Analyst based in ANNAPOLIS, Maryland to join our team. This role provides a chance to work in a dynamic environment, closely collaborating with our accounting and finance departments to evaluate organization's income and spending. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity and requires excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close cycles, ensuring accuracy.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret complex financial data.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports.
• Respond to management requests by extracting, manipulating, and organizing data.
• Work closely with the accounting and finance departments to evaluate the organization's income and spending.
• Use MS Excel and Pivot Table for data analysis and presentation.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable duties, including coding and approving invoices.
• Perform data entry tasks as required. Requirements • Must possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Proficient in coding invoices and processing approved invoices
• Ability to create, manage, and manipulate Pivot Tables in MS Excel
• Experience with data entry in accounting software and systems
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel including advanced functions
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Prior experience in an Accounting Analyst role is an advantage
• Familiarity with accounting software and platforms is a plus
