Description
Robert Half has partnered with a reputable client in the real estate industry to hire their next Controller. This Controller will serve as the accounting & finance leader, but is also a very hands-on role, responsible for all of the day-to-day accounting and monthly financial reporting, overseeing a small team of clerks. We are looking for this Controller to also bring a strategic approach to help the company navigate various transformation activities. This is an exciting role for someone looking to dig their hands in and play a pivotal role within the organization. We are looking for a Controller who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions. This role's duties will require leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability.
How you will make an impact:
Oversee and be responsible for day-to-day accounting transactions and activity
Present executive team and external parties with monthly financial reports
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Guiding the cash flow management processes
Ensure deliverables of self and team to meet firm wide expectations
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Hire and train employees, especially finance staff, and manage retention
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Requirements
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Experience in the real estate / property management industry
8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
2+ years of experience in a supervisory role
Experience with property management accounting software (Yardi, MRI, Sage, etc.)
Proven organizational and leadership skills required
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
