Description

We are in search of an Interim Controller to join a client's team in Anniston, Alabama. The position will offer mostly remote work! This role falls within the government industry and requires proficiency in grant or fund accounting. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial activities and will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision making.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.

• Coordinate all audit activity and manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.

• Leverage the ERP system to obtain and analyze product cost, revenues, and margins, and to make recommendations where necessary.

• Prepare and present financial reports and metrics for internal and external stakeholders.

• Direct the financial strategic planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

• Retain a constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems.

• Ensure compliance with the law and company's policies.

Requirements

• An understanding and practical experience in Auditing is needed

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required

• The ability to work effectively as a Controller, coordinating financial activities and strategy is crucial

• Strong communication skills to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders

• Proven analytical skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle pressure situations

• Must have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Professional certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is desirable

• The candidate should possess leadership qualities and have experience in a managerial role

• Must abide by all professional ethics and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
