Robert Half Accounting Manager in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Our client is an industry leader and rapidly growing organization, in search of a dedicated Accounting Manager to join their team based in Arlington, Virginia. This role is integral to operations and involves managing fund accounting for completed projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with stakeholders, optimizing processes, and contributing to the growth of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the fund accounting process for all Joint Venture (JV) funds containing fully built out projects.

• Supervise third-party relationships with our outsourced accountants, who currently handle the accounting for multiple funds and projects.

• Develop and implement processes and procedures related to our JV portfolio.

• Collaborate with management to build out team and insourcing fund accounting.

• Review balance sheet reconciliations and monthly JV fund financials.

• Provide review comments to internal or third-party accountants.

• Import external trial balances and work on integrating third-party accounting into our consolidated ERP.

• Train and guide accounting team members.

• Foster relationships with staff, suppliers, and vendors.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with at least 2+ years of public audit experience

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.

• Excellent strategic planning skills in financial operations.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to lead and direct a team effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant accounting software.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional accounting certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with financial reporting and other financial statements.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Proven ability to implement new strategies to improve financial processes and efficiency.
