Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Arlington, Virginia
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Arlington, Virginia. The individual will be a key part of our financial team, primarily focusing on processing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries. This role also involves monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.
Responsibilities:
• Process daily lockbox cash receipts for checks, ACH, and wire forms of payment and ensure proper processing of NSF or return items.
• Address and resolve issues and answer questions for internal colleagues and external customers in a professional and timely manner.
• Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts and work with them to resolve differences on their accounts and collect payment on overdue balances.
• Import monthly invoice files into our systems by generating an electronic file upload, verifying control totals, and resolving errors that occur in processing.
• Prepare daily money movement report with the team, ensuring accuracy and correct processing throughout the process.
• Maintain our database for updates from various units by editing customer information for mergers, splits, terminations, additions, and changes of contact and other information.
• Reconcile several receivables GL clearing accounts monthly, researching and resolving transactions that need to be cleared in the system.
• Use accounting software systems and Microsoft Office Suites to execute various accounting functions and check processing.
• Leverage skills in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Billing Functions to ensure smooth cash activity.
This role does not require the use of IBM AS/400 or Great Plains (GPAC). Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC)
• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 system
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
• Ability to handle Accounting Functions
• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Billing Functions
• Experience in handling Cash Activity
• Familiarity with Check Processing
