Description

We are looking for a diligent Collections Specialist to join our team based in Ashland, Virginia. In this role, you will handle all aspects of client management including collections of past due balances, resolving customer disputes, reconciling accounts, and managing correspondence. This role offers a long-term employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle collections calls in a courteous manner to keep accounts current

• Address problems and complaints with customers in a friendly manner, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution

• Conduct detailed research on accounts, making copies of pertinent documents as needed

• Communicate effectively with customers to resolve disputes

• Handle all in and out-bound correspondence related to collections

• Ensure accurate handling of check requests, debits, and credits as needed or required

• Prepare and mail monthly statements in a timely manner

• Take proactive measures to collect on accounts over 90 days past due

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Ensure punctuality and adherence to work schedule, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Collections Specialist role or similar

• Experience in the wine industry is highly desirable

• Proficiency in collections, particularly in the consumer sector

• Exceptional customer service skills, with a proven track record of maintaining customer relationships

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in high-stress situations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to meet and exceed collection targets

• Strong understanding and adherence to legal and ethical standards related to collections and debt recovery

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work

• Proficiency in using collections-specific software and tools.
