Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Astoria, New York

Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Astoria, New York. This role is crucial to our financial operations, focusing on the management of our accounts payable within the property management industry. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial records and transactions, contributing significantly to our financial health. This role is offered on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Process, verify, and reconcile invoices related to accounts payable in a timely manner

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions and vendor information

• Utilize the 'Yardi' software system for data entry and management of financial information

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all financial deadlines are met

• Manage the payment process, ensuring all payments are made in accordance with company policy

• Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in financial reports and statements

• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors

• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data

• Communicate effectively with vendors and respond to inquiries regarding payments

• Continuously improve payment processes through efficiency enhancements. Requirements • Possess excellent accounting skills, with a focus on accounts payable

• Proficiency in using 'Yardi' software for managing accounts payable

• Exhibit strong knowledge of general ledger systems and procedures

• Have the ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use

• Ability to reconcile accounts payable entries

• Display strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with vendors, suppliers, and employees

• Show evidence of being detail-oriented, with high levels of accuracy in work output

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements

• Have a minimum of a high school diploma, though an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred

• Prior experience in an accounts payable role is desirable.
