STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Public Accounting Firm in Athens, GA

My client is a well-established public accounting firm dedicated to providing exceptional accounting, tax, and consulting services to a diverse range of clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience in public accounting, and a desire to grow professionally. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and various accounting tasks for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Assist in the preparation of individual and business tax returns.

  • Conduct audits and reviews of client financial statements.

  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Collaborate with clients to address accounting and tax-related inquiries.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  • Provide support during tax planning and compliance processes.

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA certification or candidate preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in public accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, and tax preparation software).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
