Description
Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced Payroll Tax professional to support a 4 month engagement with a Higher Education client. Client is looking for a strong Payroll Tax resource to assist with year-end payroll tax reporting/reconciliations as well as other Payroll Tax items such as non-resident alien employee clean-up and compliance. Candidates for this role must have experience with non-resident alien payroll tax. This role can be done 100% remotely working an EST schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the tax treaty process management, including identifying eligibility and confirming tax treaty status
• Carry out the initial setup of payroll for non-resident alien taxation and manage the renewal processes
• Manage inquiries and paperwork completion in Glacier (Non-Resident Alien tax software)
• Review and ensure compliance with any declared treaty benefits
• Verify the proper coding of Non-Resident Alien employees in the Oracle E-Business R12 Payroll module
• Conduct complex year-end tax reconciliations, preferably between Oracle Payroll and ADP
• Ensure all balance adjustments are made in Oracle and reconciled and communicated to ADP before required deadlines
• Assist in managing the outsourcing of tax withholding payments to ADP
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
Requirements • Candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a payroll tax management role or similar position.
• Proficiency in the management of Payroll Taxes is required.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of Tax Treaties is necessary.
• Ability to effectively reconcile payroll is a must.
• Candidate must be experienced in using Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is crucial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Familiarity with payroll software and systems is advantageous.
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations is expected.
• Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is preferred.
