Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a meticulous and organized Accounting Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, you will be working in a dynamic team environment, providing administrative support and managing various accounting functions. You will primarily be responsible for processing accounts payable invoices, reconciling company credit card purchases, and handling customer orders.

Position Overview As the Accounting Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining financial records and ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions. You will handle various accounting tasks, including processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining financial data in the ERP system. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Management:

Process accounts payable invoices in the ACCPAC/Sage ERP system. Ensure timely and accurate posting of vendor credit notes and adjustments. Reconcile and post company credit card purchases. Accounts Receivable Support:

Process customer orders and prepare them for shipment, including entering data into the accounting system. Handle customer submitted credit applications, including obtaining reference checks and ensuring compliance with credit policies. Financial Data Maintenance:

Maintain and update the Sales Data File daily for quarterly submission. Ensure accurate general ledger coding on all expense reports and financial documents. Inventory and Order Management:

Issue purchase orders to maintain adequate availability of parts stock. Conduct year-end inventory counting, reporting, and reconciliation. Receive and verify accuracy of shipments, ensuring serial numbers and details are correctly entered into the system. Vendor and Customer Liaison:

Provide support for staff and customer inquiries related to accounting and financial matters. Offer order confirmations and tracking number notifications to customers for shipment(s). General Accounting Support:

Handle the preparation and processing of purchase orders for office supplies via Amazon Business Account. Assist with general accounting tasks, including filing, data entry, and report generation. Qualifications Experience:

Familiarity with ACCPAC/Sage ERP system or similar accounting software.

Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. Effective communication skills and ability to interact with vendors, customers, and team members. Education:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Requirements • Proficient with Accounting Software Systems

• Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Understanding of Accounting Functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Billing Functions

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct software

• Knowledge of Administrative procedures

• Capable of handling General Ledger tasks

• Able to perform Account Reconciliation
