Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the construction industry. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, you will be joining our team and playing a key role in monitoring and managing our financial records. This role will allow you to leverage your accounting skills and contribute to our team's success in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage house closing journal entries, recognizing revenue and cost of sales, and relieving house inventory
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of budgeted house costs against actual costs, collaborating with Division Construction and Purchasing teams to ensure accuracy
• Participate in the month-end close process, assisting with the consolidation and reporting of financial results
• Maintain and update financial records in a timely and accurate manner
• Liaise with other departments to collect and provide financial information as required
• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with the organization's policies and accounting principles
• Perform data entry and manage journal entries
• Administer budget allocations and participate in budget administration
• Assist in month-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with the organization's policies and accounting principles. Requirements • Proficient in making Journal Entries
• Demonstrable experience in Budget Allocations
• Prior experience in Budget Administration
• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures
• Strong Data Entry skills
• Familiar with Accounting software
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Relevant work experience in the construction or contractor industry would be advantageous
