Description

The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This role's duties will require leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. Major responsibilities
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Requirements
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Month end closings experience
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
CPA/MBA preferred
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
