Robert Half Finance is reviewing candidates for a renowned technology company for an ambitious, determined Controller. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the metro-Atlanta area..

Your responsibilities

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Month end closings experience

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
