Protiviti is looking for a Data Engineer Manager to join our growing Asset Development team.

What You Can Expect

The Asset Development team is a new capability group within Protiviti . The mission is to deliver innovative, high demand solutions at a fraction of the time and cost of industry norms. We are looking for a data engineer who has successfully designed and built data pipelines for cloud applications to consume .

As a Manager , you’ll partner with our clients to solve complex business problems and provide impactful advice and solutions.  You’ll develop lasting relationships with client personnel and further these relationships through quality product delivery.  You’ll foster a network within the business community and serve as an ambassador of Protiviti in the market.   You will also be a mentor, trainer, and coach to Consultants and Senior Consultants as you facilitate the successful completion of project work plans .

  • You e ngage directly with customers to participate in the design and development of data integration and architecture solution according to functional and performance requirements.

  • You d evelop complex data integrations and pipelines on high volume, high-frequency datasets to enable AI Application workflows (feature engineering, training, inference, alerting)

  • You p articipate in the development of documentation, technical procedures, and user support guides .

  • You p erform debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing of integration solutions .

  • You d esign, implement, and operate data management systems for intelligence needs.

    We are seeking an experienced data engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in recommending architecture designs and successfully develop to launch analytics applications. The Asset Development team is a start-up within a large company and the ability to prove success with low cost is mandatory. The data engineer must have experience in a start-up like environment and can quickly deliver prototypes at low budget to prove viability.

    Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines for cloud native applications (AWS and Azure).

  • Assemble large, complex data sets for use in R&D, data science or machine learning

  • Performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.

  • Developing processes automating data transformation, loading data structures, and wrangling data rapidly in ad hoc situations.

  • Supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

  • Develop production level code. Own process features from design to implementation.

  • Build the infrastructure that provides efficient and scalable ETL/ELT and integration of data from multiple proprietary and 3rd party sources.

  • Code, test and deploy data pipelines in support of various initiatives.

  • Ensure quality of code, processes, and data assets.

  • Work on complex tasks and/or broad programs that are large and diverse in scope and/or critical in nature. Exercises good judgment in determining technical approach.

  • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts.

  • Experience in protected sensitivity data points (PII) on database structure.

  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem-solving techniques.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

    Your Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a relevant discipline .

  • 5+ years working in Data Engineering or a related field; preferably in professional services and/or industry.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.

  • Experience with Azure / Snowflake data technologies.

  • Experience with Python/C#/Machine Learning is a plus.

Starting salary is based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location. Below is the salary range for this job.

$120,000.00 - $192,000.00

Our annual bonus plan provides eligible employees additional cash and/or discretionary stock compensation opportunities. Below is the bonus target opportunity for this job.

The total cash range is estimated from the sum of the base salary range plus the bonus target opportunity. Below is the estimated total cash range for this job.

$134,400.00 - $215,040.00

Employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverages, FSA and HSA healthcare accounts, life and accident insurance, adoption and fertility assistance, paid parental leave up to 10 weeks, and short/long term disability. We offer eligible employees a company 401(k) savings and investment plan with an employer match of 50% on the first 6% of your contributions. We provide Choice Time Off (CTO) for vacation, personal needs, and sick time. The amount of (CTO) varies based on years of service. New hires receive up to 20 days of CTO per calendar year. Protiviti also recognizes up to 11 paid holidays each calendar year.
