We are actively recruiting for an esteemed client in search of a Tax Manager to oversee vital sales and income tax functions within their organization. The ideal candidate will excel in building collaborative relationships with internal operations teams and various accounting, financial, and regulatory groups to fulfill essential responsibilities. Proficiency in research is key, with a preference for experience in the taxation of software products and/or services.

Responsibilities:

  • Address both internal and external inquiries concerning the tax implications of the client's products and services, including tax exemptions.

  • Conduct thorough research on customer sales tax disputes.

  • Determine appropriate sales tax sourcing for complex multi-state transactions involving software-related products and services, including cloud-based offerings.

  • Analyze and assess the impact of proposed tax laws to maintain the client's sales tax matrix and ensure compliance.

  • Reconcile sales tax data, including general ledger accounts.

  • Oversee the outsourced compliance process for sales and use tax returns, covering filings, payments, and notices.

  • Manage sales tax audits.

  • Handle customer tax addresses and contribute to the compilation of revenue apportionment data for state and local income tax reporting.

  • Maintain sales tax calculation software, including product and customer taxability setup and troubleshooting.

  • Supervise the outsourced process for business annual report filings.

  • Prepare property tax returns.

  • Assist with various tax responsibilities, including making estimated payments, preparing forms, and conducting reconciliations.

    Requirements

Requirements:

Multiple years of relevant tax/accounting experience.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Masters Degree preferred.

Strong managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.

Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Precision and attention to detail are paramount.

Proactive approach with a commitment to task initiation and follow-through.

Proficient in data reconciliation and a solid understanding of general ledger principles.

Exposure to tax accounting software and tax compliance software.
