Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Cash Flow Reports experience preferred
Full Cycle Payroll experience preferred
Strong familiarity with journal entries
Month end closings experience
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
