Robert Half HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist in Auburn, Massachusetts
Description We are seeking a Payroll and HR Generalist to join our clients small but growing construction/services company. In this role, you will oversee payroll processing and provide key HR support across various functions. You’ll manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments for all employees, handling deductions, tax filings, and compliance with labor laws. Additionally, you’ll assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and maintaining personnel records.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll systems and HR best practices. Prior experience in a construction or services-based industry is a plus, as you’ll work closely with both field and office staff. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience with Weekly Payroll
• Familiarity with Prevailing Wage practices
• Experience in Onboarding and Corporate Recruiting
• Knowledge of Compliance with payroll laws
• Understanding of Medical Benefits administration
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field is preferred
• Certification in payroll like Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) is a plus.
