Robert Half Purchasing Manager in Auburn, New York

Description

Chris Preble is working with a manufacturing company in Auburn to find their next Purchasing Manager. In this position, you will help be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the availability of necessary materials for our manufacturing department, and playing a key role in cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:

• Help develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and other relevant criteria.

• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.

• Monitor and manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and compliance with company policies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality, and logistics, to understand material requirements and ensure timely supply.

• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.

• Manage inventory levels to optimize working capital while meeting production requirements.

• Analyze purchasing trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards.

• Resolve any issues related to the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and invoicing discrepancies.

• Utilize ERP solutions and Microsoft Office Suites to manage purchasing processes and maintain records.

• Provide exceptional customer service in resolving credit inquiries and issues.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

•Current and relevant purchasing experience
