Robert Half Senior Finance Manager in Auburn, Washington

Description

Robert Half is working with a locally-owned, publicly traded company to add a a Senior Finance Manager to their team in Auburn, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all finance and accounting operations, coordinating and directing the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and providing insight into the business performance. This role will oversee all finance and accounting activities for the US division of the business, and will provide an additional layer of management and support from a top-down perspective. This is a permanent opportunity and will be fully on-site in Auburn, WA.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage all finance and accounting operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with appropriate regulations

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, reporting any variances

• Provide insight into the business performance and recommend avenues for improvement

• Identify and report business risks to senior leadership in a timely manner

• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure all reports are accurate and submitted within the required timelines

• Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all financial reports are accurate and complete

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management reports, including financial statements, cash flow, and commentaries for finance presentation

• Conduct monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and ensure timely clearance of reconciling items

• Oversee general ledger control accounts including bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and stock/inventory on a daily basis

• Ensure knowledge of state tax requirements and advise management of key requirements

• Manage timely lodgment of monthly State Tax and quarterly Federal tax payments

• Prepare Tax Effect Accounting calculations for the company on a half-yearly basis

• Review and reconcile payroll reports prepared by HR Manager and process bi-weekly payroll journal with correct GL codes

• Update employee records for accrued hours of vacation/sick leave

• Prepare weekly cash flow forecast for Management and Accounting team

• Approve domestic/international bank payments and download bank statements for accurate cash flow and bank reconciliation

• Manage stock and conduct cycle count data reviews

• Review purchase price variance (PPV) analysis and liaise with the Costing Team for standard cost alterations

• Assist auditors throughout the audit process and in the preparation of year-end financials

• Review employee travel expenses and provide strategic support of company sales objectives including margin reviews, freight cost analysis, promotional cost/margin reviews, key account rebate/discount management, and strategic financial modeling.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 annually. Benefits offered with this position include Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance, 10 paid holidays, 10 days of vacation, and 8 sick days per year, 401k with an automatic 3% of salary added by employer (no match required), and other optional benefits!

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field strongly preferred. MBA, CPA, CMA designations are a huge plus.

• 7+ years of combined accounting and finance experience with 2+ years in a Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, or Controller position

• Ability to efficiently create and present data and reports to upper management and stakeholders

• JDE (Oracle ERP) experience preferred, but not required.

• Proficient in the full-cycle Accounting Functions

• Extensive experience in Auditing

• In-depth knowledge of Budget Processes

• Expertise in Capital Management, CapEx, and Cash Flow Analysis

• Experience in Budgeting, Forecasting, and Modeling

• Expertise in Variance Analysis

• Strong background in Accounting Management

• Demonstrated Executive Leadership skills
