Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join a great team in the Energy industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Revenue and Accounts Payable functions within the organization, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles specific to the Oil and Gas sector.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the Revenue accounting process, including revenue recognition, billing, and collections.
Lead the Accounts Payable team in processing invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper documentation and recording of revenue and expenses related to oil and gas operations.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify discrepancies, mitigate risks, and improve internal controls.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts related to Revenue and Accounts Payable activities.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and growth.
Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Stay abreast of industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimization of processes.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
Proven experience of 5+ in accounting roles within the Oil and Gas industry, with a focus on Revenue and Accounts Payable management.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with industry-specific accounting standards (e.g., ASC 932, ASC 605).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends effectively.
Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams and driving results.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance issues relevant to the Oil and Gas industry is a plus.
