Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. What you get to do every day
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Knowledge of CPA
3+ years of experience in financial services industry or public accounting
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Ability to meet deadlines
