Robert Half Assistant Controller in Austin, Texas

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Austin, Texas. This role involves overseeing the financial functions for several operating locations, working in close collaboration with District Operational Managers. It also necessitates interacting directly with local and state regulatory agencies and personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly financial close functions through the preparation of financial statements for various operating locations.

• Maintain the integrity of all general ledger accounts.

• Conduct detailed narrative analysis of significant financial variances to budget and forecast.

• Complete a three-month financial forecast on a monthly basis.

• Conduct rate analysis and review.

• Communicate financial-related information to business counterparts effectively and timely.

• Manage the flow of accounting data to and from remote facilities.

• Assist with quarterly Sarbanes Oxley compliance and review.

• Participate in the annual financial budget process.

• Provide training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance, accounting procedures, and financial statement review.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP.

• Ability to travel for site visits and meetings. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and general ledger

• Proficient in creating and posting journal entries

• Experience in performing month-end close activities

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

MUST be willing to relocate with 18 – 24 months
