Description Robert Half is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Accountant position, which will become a critical part of an innovative company. To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every single day
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Knowledge of construction project accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of construction project accounting
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Excellent attention to detail
