Robert Half Senior Accountant in Austin, Texas

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the hi-tech engineering industry situated in Austin, Texas. The candidate will be primarily responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, assisting in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, and performing variance analysis. You will also be expected to correspond with internal and external auditors, perform technical research on various accounting issues, and support special projects as required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post top-side journal entries related to Corporate Accounting

• Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements

• Perform variance analysis on certain critical accounts

• Correspond with internal and external auditors and provide requested schedules

• Perform technical research on various accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice under US GAAP

• Oversight of other general departmental-specific responsibilities including variance analyses tied to monthly close and compliance with internal control requirements of SOX

• Support special projects such as purchase accounting matters related to merger and acquisition activity

• Assist with preparation of footnotes/MD& A for Form 10Q/K SEC filings as well as other SEC filings

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in a senior accounting role within the hi-tech engineering industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entries

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis

• Experience with month-end close procedures and reporting

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for financial management and accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in managing financial information.
