Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Austin, Texas

Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and involves supporting our broader Finance and Accounting team in various aspects, including internal and external financial reporting, monthly close entries, detailed transactional reconciliations, and other accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports for internal and external purposes.

• Manage the monthly close process, including the preparation of journal entries.

• Handle detailed transactional reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

• Support the daily bank transfer process to ensure smooth financial operations.

• Contribute to bi-monthly premium cutoff processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Respond to customer reporting needs, providing accurate and timely information.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and NetSuite for various accounting and financial tasks.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of reported financial data.

• Support account reconciliation activities to ensure financial accuracy and control.

• Assist with other accounting tasks as required, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance and accounting function. Requirements • Possess expertise in account reconciliation

• Experience with balance sheet reconciliation is essential

• Must have prior experience in conducting bank reconciliations

• Proficiency in general ledger management

• Ability to create and manage journal entries

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience in handling month end close processes

• Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software is preferred

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required

• detail oriented certifications such as CPA or CMA are desirable

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
