Robert Half Staff Accountant in Austin, Texas
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Austin, Texas, within the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry. The role involves a variety of accounting functions, including processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to the finance department.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications
• Maintain precise customer credit records
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
• Participate in the month end closing process, which includes the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation
• Perform, review, reconcile and analyze various inventory accounts
• Prepare and distribute month end reports
• Provide accounting support to field personnel
• Calculate and remit Sales & Use Tax
• Prepare and file tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Provide audit support and schedules upon request
• Perform other accounting functions and special projects as required
• Comply with SOX compliance test work. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries
• Ability to handle Month End Close activities
• Experience with Fixed Asset Inventory management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to perform Account Reconciliation
• Relevant experience in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
