Description Candidates looking for full-time work will be interested in Robert Half's Staff Accountant opportunity with an innovative company. This position will challenge your skills as your juggle multiple components. This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you will succeed in this role. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Austin, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. What you get to do every day
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
VLOOKUP experience required
Solid understanding of account reconciliation
Construction Accounting experience a plus
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Skilled with ERP systems
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
