Robert Half Tax Associate in Austin, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff in a CPA Firm based in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be a vital part of our team, responsible for a range of tax-related duties, from preparation of federal and state tax returns to research on various tax issues and audit work. This role also involves the development of technical skills and individual coaching, ensuring each team member achieves their highest goals.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare federal and state tax returns including individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns, in addition to payroll and sales tax.

• Conduct research on various tax issues in conjunction with tax preparation.

• Document client information and prepare tax work papers.

• Ensure efficient management of workload in both group and individual settings.

• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel to ensure efficient project management.

• Participate in audit, review, and compilation work.

• Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute to and participate in task resolution.

• Use strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels within our team and with clients.

• Utilize accounting functions and auditing skills, along with Microsoft Excel and management systems, to perform duties effectively.

• Provide excellent customer service while complying with all regulations.

• Utilize knowledge of general ledger and/or QuickBooks as a plus but not required.

• Use CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem as a plus but not required. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CPA firm or similar environment.

• Proficiency in tax software such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and Gosystem.

• Experience with management systems.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Proven experience in accounting functions including auditing, cash activity, and compliance.

• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations.

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus but not a requirement.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
