Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Bakersfield, California
Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Assistant to join our team in Bakersfield, California. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for various financial tasks such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, data analysis, and other administrative duties. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and will be integral in maintaining our financial records and processing transactions.
Responsibilities
• Manage accounts receivable and ensure all payments are processed in a timely manner
• Handle accounts payable duties, including invoice processing and payment
• Perform data entry tasks to maintain financial records and databases
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
• Perform light reconciliation duties to ensure accuracy of accounts
• Assist in administrative tasks as needed to support the accounting department
• Utilize MS Word and Excel to create reports and present data
• Resolve customer inquiries related to financial matters, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role or similar
• Strong expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary
• Proficiency in Data Analysis is required
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
• Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in all work
• Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary
• Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on financial data is required.
